Nansledan — Duchy of Cornwall — De Lank granite, Newquay, Cornwall

Nansledan — Duchy of Cornwall

2017–present

Nansledan is a major extension to the Cornish town of Newquay, built on Duchy of Cornwall land to the principles of traditional Cornish town building, with its architecture and materials drawn from the local vernacular. De Lank holds a long term agreement with the Duchy of Cornwall to supply granite for the development, reported as a forty year contract and among the largest long term granite supply agreements in the United Kingdom. For a town designed to grow over decades and to look as though it has always stood there, a single consistent source of genuinely local granite is essential. De Lank stone is used in the streets, buildings and details that give Nansledan its Cornish character, with the security of supply a project measured in generations requires.
