Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and protect your personal data, and your rights under UK data protection law.
Last updated: 1 July 2026.
This policy explains how De Lank Quarry Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles personal data when you use this website or contact us. We are the data controller for the personal data described below and are committed to protecting it in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who we are
De Lank Quarry Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 07513626). Registered office and site: De Lank Quarry, St. Breward, Bodmin, Cornwall, PL30 4NQ.
For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us at info@delankquarry.co.uk or 01208 850217.
We use personal data only to run our own business — responding to enquiries, marketing our own products, and keeping our accounts and records. On that basis we are exempt from paying the data protection fee to the Information Commissioner’s Office. We remain fully committed to handling your personal data in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
The personal data we collect
We only collect the personal data you choose to give us. If you fill in our enquiry form, we collect your name, and any company or practice name, email address, phone number, project type, finish preferences, approximate quantity and project description you provide, along with how you heard about us. If you email or call us, we hold the contact details and information you share.
Like any website, our hosting provider automatically processes limited technical data (such as your IP address and browser type) in server logs to deliver the site securely. We do not use this to identify or track individual visitors.
How we use your data, and our lawful basis
We use the details you send us solely to respond to your enquiry, prepare quotes, and provide the information or products you ask about. Our lawful basis is that the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)), and our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries about our stone (Article 6(1)(f)).
We do not use your details for marketing without your separate consent, and we never sell your personal data.
Who we share it with
We share personal data only with the service providers who help us run the website and respond to you, and only as needed for those purposes. These include our website hosting and infrastructure provider (Vercel), our database provider (Neon), and our email delivery provider (Resend). Some of these providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, that data is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent. We may also disclose data where required by law.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details only for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and to keep reasonable records of the projects and quotes we handle, and then delete them. If you ask us to erase your data sooner, we will do so unless we are legally required to keep it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to data portability. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email info@delankquarry.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
How to make a complaint
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, please contact us first at info@delankquarry.co.uk. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to respond within one month.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection, at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, by calling 0303 123 1113, or by writing to Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.
Cookies
We use only one strictly necessary cookie and no tracking or advertising cookies. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.
Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to keep your personal data secure, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) across the site and access controls on our systems.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised “last updated” date.
