Duchy Bridges

De Lank has supplied granite for the building and restoration of bridges across the Duchy of Cornwall estate. Granite bridges are among the most demanding of all stone structures: they carry load, they stand partly in moving water, and on a historic estate any new or repaired work has to sit beside stonework that may be centuries old. De Lank stone is specified for this work for two reasons. Its strength and density give the structural performance a bridge needs, and as the local Cornish granite it matches the colour and character of the existing stone, so repairs and new spans read as part of the landscape rather than additions to it.
